Rob has not played many tournaments this season – he made a travel basketball team which will take up weekends for the next couple of months – but also I did not sign up for the season as quickly as previous seasons, and we were waitlisted for some tournaments he could have been available for. Not that it matters too much. There’s lots of time.
Max is caddying for Rob today and the wind is freezing. Winter is coming and it can definitely be felt making it’s forays into the South this morning. I asked how Rob warmed up on the range. Max’s response: Terribly. We will just work with what we’ve got.
And he said it calmly, with a hint of amused anticipation. We have all grown. A little colder, a little older perhaps. But mostly in our perceptions of the cold, stark reality of the situation – that our tween golfer is not playing for a position on the Web.com tour. He really is not that promising of a junior golfer at all.
But he has got parents who work with what he’s got. And that’s something – regardless of how terrible the circumstances may be.
