This course was a true test in course management and Rob passed it with flying colors. So proud of him. While the Daddy Caddies discussed clubs and lengths and lies each and every time in painstaking detail, Rob made all his decisions on his own and they were spot on. This gives me great hope going forward.
Last time I wrote of the necessity of good drives off the tee for a good score and today he proved it. Thank you to his coach who got his stance sorted out! Today off the tee was solid except for the drive on Hole 4 which was purely miraculous.
He had the ‘honor’ and was first on the tee. I was not in the spot I usually stand and being first on this hole I think he possibly rushed the drive. It screamed left towards the woods at a frantic pace, not even a bounce. Then hit a tree and bounced, incredibly, out of the woods on to the semi-rough at the edge of the fairway ! Good living !!
Everything was hit well today. A few putts went contrary to our “leave it close” strategy and cost us, but I am pleased to report I remained detached and positive. Thank you Dr. McCabe !!
