We played one of the most long and technically difficult courses on the local tour today. Our 3-ball included a boy caddying for himself (so admirable at this age) and a novice with grandma on the bag, who looked the part with her ‘Masters’ shirt, but was of no help at all to the poor child.
It really was a complicated course and honestly one of the most enjoyable for me – not because Rob played amazing golf (it was just fine for the most part) but I think that, due to the complexity, we talked a lot about strategy …………. and you know I like to talk on the golf course. Strategy is one of my favorite subjects !
Rob was even in a receptive mood for my musings (for the most part). One of my favorite soundbites of the day – Rob was lodged in a hazard but reluctant to take the drop :
You probably don’t think I can do it, but I can.
He couldn’t. At least not the first time.
But we did rather enjoy ourselves together out there. I didn’t think we could.
But we can !
