Season 5, Tournament 5 : Same Old Same Old

Same old, same old.  Same old score.  Same old complaints.  When negativity seeps in its a slippery slope.  Fortunately I do believe he will grow out of this tendency to let a little rain cloud settle on top of his head.  Bear did.  So there is hope.

The problem is that the trigger to summon the cloud is a  fine one.  He will be severely judgmental of a shot which I think is really not that bad.  I say: That shot is fine, what are you complaining about?

Rob: That was a terrible shot !

No it wasn’t !  Just how good do you think you are ?

A few holes in I think I might have made a breakthrough with the black cloud chatter.  Every time he said something negative I demanded a hug and kiss!  Now Rob is not the most affectionately demonstrative child and it was a struggle to carry out the “punishment” but a struggle filled with much squirming laughter, which I think, ultimately, might have worked !

We started out the round strong.  Got shaky along the way with a few wayward shots, and ended with a blistering drive right across the road into traffic.  A little pink ball bouncing perilously around confused cars.

When he kept the ball on the fairway it was good.  Really good at times.  He had some difficulty when the rough came into play, and we certainly did not try to retrieve the ball from across the highway.  He also missed a tap-in.  Oh, that was not pretty  !!!

Hot, humid and very far to push that cart up and down hills and holes that criss-crossed across a creek, back and forth for miles.  I’m tired.  Sweat and sunblock sting my eyes.  I’m quite sure I’m not looking too pretty myself !!
