Simple. Simple, Simple, Simple. It’s a basketball play. They shout that from the base line before the ball is thrown in. They then run the play. It’s called “Simple” and for a reason.
Text from Max: He should have played the basketball game this morning..
Uh Oh..
Not what you want to hear when you are waiting on a golf result!
When you start hole 1 of a 9 hole tournament with a 9 the best you can do is try and keep the rest of the round relatively fun. To do this Max and Rob had mini bets on the course. The final one on hole 9 being: if Rob did not make a par he would have to eat tomatoes and if he did he could get a bag of Skittles. He sunk a 6 footer for those Skittles – but for the most part, thanks to bladed chips, a few chunks and way too many putts – could not make an ‘up and down’ if his life depended on it.
It doesn’t matter if you have to wait to play every shot, or that the greens are inconsistent. You have to get the ball closer to the hole every time. That’s golf. Simple.
Max thought Rob would probably have shot in the low 40s if he had played the whole round simply with his hybrid. Anyway, despite it all he had a good attitude and said he really enjoyed the round.
After that they rode 1 1/2 hours back home just to turn around in different clothes and drive 45 minutes to a basketball tournament game where Rob’s team got pummeled but still kept their energy and attitude up. He really enjoyed that too. That’s what it’s all about
Simple as that.
